Editor's Notes: Trump's Schutzstaffel Is Still Active and Committing Murders With Impunity
With Platner out, we turn our focus back to the Nazis already in power.
With the hopefully permanent exit of the Totenkopf-branded candidate from the news cycle, it behooves us to turn our focus back to the Nazis we already have in power.
Despite the escalating military actions abroad, despite the unprecedented scale of corruption, despite the public’s at-best transient anger on the topic, mass deportation remains the greatest threat to our republic and the lives of those living in it.
The murder of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo is every bit as infuriating as the murders of Renée Good and Alex Pretti, but for reasons both obvious and depressing, has not seen nearly the same level of national attention or outrage.
One reason is that there simply is no video, never mind a video that clearly shows a brazen murder, as we had multiple videos of in Good and Pretti’s cases. Despite being required to do so, Salgado Araujo’s murderers were not wearing body cameras, so we’re not likely to get much more on that front. As has become typical under this administration, DHS put out a completely partisan explanation, blaming it on “back-to-back Democrat shutdowns.”
What is more, the three witnesses to the crime who were in the car with Salgado Araujo (and are contradicting DHS’s characterization of events) are being pressured to self-deport, something that Greg Sargent at The New Republic reported and ICE did not deny.
We have not even had justice for Good and Pretti, and I am not optimistic we’re going to get justice for Salgado Araujo. Not until…
